About Us (Naturally Yours Boutique)


Founded in 2000 by Natural Hair Specialist, Olufemi Alexander, her focus has been on the health and beauty of natural hair without any chemical altering of natural hair texture. Known for her love of 'natural solutions' through herbal recipes and remedies, she recommends only the best quality products and solutions for dry hair and scalp.

Olufemi, has been braiding, loc'n and twist'n natural hair for many, many years. She's worn natural hair styles most of her life and is now satisfied wearing her SisterlocksTM. Olufemi is a Certified SisterlocksTM Consultant in Southern California. "When we learn to accept ourselves for who we are and for whose we are, we'll be a much happier and fullfilled person."

Naturally Yours Boutique opened out of a need for the residents in the Inland Empire in Southern California, to have a Professional Natural Hair Care Specialist, care for their natural hair, without commuting to the city of Los Angeles after communting to work there every day.

As a child, Olufemi would comb, brush and braid her dolls hair for hours. Once her little sister, Chelsea was born and grew up, she found herself braiding and styling her hair.

One night Olufemi had a vision and a revelation--'the locs was her style'...it agreed with her hair type, so she started locking her hair. She found that people around her had to adjust to her NEW hairstyle. Nevertheless, she felt this was "her style."

She wore traditional locs (dreadlocks) for 5 years before she cut them off to start over with SisterlocksTM...a hairstyle that captured her heart and attention instantly the day she saw how beautiful and versatile they were.

Olufemi has high aspirations for her business..."Naturally Yours Boutique is not just a business, it's an experience."

The Passion, Mission, Vision and Purpose of Olufemi and Naturally Yours Boutique is to show the client a variety of ways tightly textured hair can be styled without chemically altering their hair.

Olufemi's vision is to provide her community with a natural hair salon that encourages women and men of color to appreciate and embrace their naturally curly coily beautifully textured hair. She wants to create an environment where the NYB hair care provider will help encourage and change the attitudes of people of color in regards to their hair, and raise their conscious level and self-esteem to self-empowerment about their natural beauty...from head to toe.
